Interview with Norsemen band

Image
As well known, Italian land has always brought us  amazing metal bands, from various sub-genres of our beloved life style.    As of today, i had the chance to take a closer look within the Lombardy's metal scene, and I've discovered Norsemen, an amazing death/black metal band, who's got its musical roots in an the ancient Nordic traditions and, as the Latin sun has been warming up my soul, dark ink has been filling these pages.    Therefore, I bring you one of the most promising death/black metal bands of Italian metal scene...     Ipsissima verba - Shadows :  Greetings.  Thank you for doing this interview. I'd like to know more about you, as a band, as a team. Who you are and how your story has begun.?     Norsemen :  Hi! Norsemen here... Our story begun back in 2014 when Beppe and Anto decided to put together a death metal band.    They started to write the first tracks (which would eventually end...

Interview, in premiere, with the upcoming band E'Sha 에샀 - A soul's melody

Image
The other day, as I was working on a new poem, while losing myself within the melancholy of gayageum's sound, I had the honor of meeting miss Ea, an amazing vocalist, composer and lyricist, and through her kindness, I learned about her alternative/melodic rock project E'Sha Band, with deep origins in the mesmerizing town of Bucheon, South Korea.     More than surprised I've been when, spellbound by her ethereal vocals, I've found myself listening to her songs again and again.    Shining in the cosmic void created by the guitar dark yet gentle riffs, impeccably handled by her colleague, Ash, waltzing under the spell of the keyboards and awakening the doe of spiritual self-healing, miss Ea is showing us all, once again, that South Korea has got a powerful rock/metal scene, full of passion and skilled musicians.    Truth is, for quiet a while I've been studying the metal scene of the Korean land, but up to this point, I haven't hear anything ...

Interview with Olga Kann of the epic black metal band Withered Land

Image
In a land where life seems stagnant, and the shadows of the few leaves wither in the hidden silence of the day, a young artist, Olga Kann, gave life to what we know today as Withered Land, an epic black metal music project, masking its roots in the cold winter winds of esoteric symbolism. Listening to what she created in long nights of impatience, I was transported into a wild universe, beyond what nature gave birth to before our eyes.  Therefore, I have brought to you the artist itself...     Ipsissima verba - Shadows :  Greetings. Thank you for accepting this interview.  Before we start, I'd like to know more about you.  About whom you are beyond your artistic career.  Where and how did your story begin?     Olga Kann :  I have a pretty musical family (male part of it). Music surrounded me everywhere. Cassettes, vinyl, cds, the whole house was littered with this stuff. Hard rock from my father and metal from my brothers. I...

Interview with Andrea Chiodetti - Guitarist of Grimness and ex-guitarist of The Forshadowing

Image
I recently had the honour of getting in touch with Andrea Chiodetti, a guitarist whom I greatly appreciate, for his musical career with the well-known Italian ambient gothic doom project, The Foreshadowing, and the Italian black metal project, Grimness.  Below you can read what was discussed, under the shadow of a thought…    Ipsissima verba -   Shadows :  Greetings.  First, I want to thank you for your time. Tell me, in the light that the whole planet seems to be gradually sinking into misery, in what way / level your artistic side has been affected, or, in other words, how have you been fighting against isolation, as a response to a seemingly unprecedented situation?     Andrea Chiodetti :  Hi, thank you. The honour is mine. Surely isolation was one of the main consequence of this pandemic. As everything else in life, you can see in isolation both negative and positive aspects, well, instead of fighting against it, I’d s...
